& the long of it

it takes a village. two people join together in union for their own unique purpose. at times when least expected, they are blessed with giving the gift of life. sometimes those individuals may not feel ready, may already have their hands full with another bundle of joy, or may just be in a vulnerable state, expected to nurture another human being. for life. at the ripe age of 22, i surprised similar people i speak of with my breakthrough into the world. having already assumed they were set with their first child less than two years prior, nothing could have prepared my parents for the moment i arrived. we were fortunate enough to be surrounded by family and friends who provided support, strength, and love for the entire family. although this is not always the case in modern times.
looking back in history and to current traditional, indigenous cultures, families are surrounded by others who honor and support their transitions - to motherhood and through hardships - there is a sense of community. oftentimes in the modern world, there is a lack of proximity to support systems and a rush to return to daily life without the opportunity to settle, to heal, to reorganize oneself into an efficient and natural rhythm. the circumstances we are born into do not define us, yet undoubtedly shape our blueprint of self and the world around. though it can feel overwhelming, life experience can be simplified to its true nature and transformed into a positive awakening with adequate support. it is possible to learn resiliency and restore the health that is never lost.
we are born knowing. ever since I was old enough to walk, i was found carrying one or more of my sacred baby dolls. by age 7 i was captivated by pregnancy, birth, and newborns, often found watching A Baby Story on TLC. as i grew older, i recognized the same empathetic and nurturing qualities in my Nonna and my Italian roots. i have been immersing myself in both paid and volunteer opportunities with children and families throughout my life. i pursued a bachelor's of science in Psychology, Human Development, and Family Science to hone in on my passion and become an expert in my field. since then, i have continued my studies - gathering vast amounts of information, techniques, and hands-on practice to pave my own path in helping others.
fostering a wholesome life culture. i was fortunate enough to be introduced to yoga in my adolescence by my mother. over the last 15 years, i've returned to the practice to manage stress and restore self-love and centeredness regardless of external circumstances. along my journey, which included a three-month immersion at an ashram in Thailand and studying for 4 years with a Tibetan Buddhist meditation teacher, i have continued to return to my Dharma, in Sanskrit referring to the real self.
by trial and error, i garnered the courage to follow my bliss into compassionate work with women, children, and families. this has now evolved to providing support to any individual looking to heal using holistic mind/body practices. in my experiences and from those around me, i have learned that knowledge is power. we already have everything needed within us. knowledge is simply the key to unlock our potential and enhance our lives. in the modern world, it has become even more vital to prevent preconceived notions and conditions from veiling our fullest potential. we are self-sustaining beings yet find ourselves carried away by fear and doubt. i set out to guide all people back to wholeness, encouraging them to live out their purpose and love their lives. ♡
